ABOUT EKOUGI & FOOD

While my reason for starting this blog was to push myself to learn more about food photography, I find the more time I spend blogging, the more this blog is taking on a voice of it’s own.

EKougi & Food is so far about:

  • Positive restaurnt reviews only:  Running a restaurant is hard work, and I have no intention of making it harder on anyone.  If I’ve been to a restaurant and I wasn’t a fan, it won’t be mentioned here.
  • Food, art, design and prettiness: I love it when all these things merge into one imaginative and inspiring piece of art.
  • Recipe Books that I own and love and want to share with you cos they’re so great.
  • *Soon to come* Travel suggestions from my latest holiday. I don’t claim to be the greatest of travel guides but I hope I can give you some ideas as to where to go, what to see, and what to eat when you get there.

ABOUT ME

Many of the greatest meals I’ve eaten have one thing in common, the ability to imprint their colours and flavours into my memory. And there is nothing I love more than when people ask me to share those food memories with them.

The challenge for me has always been to capture as much of that experience, that moment, into a single photo.  I want the colour, the mood, even the heat of a dish to be captured in the same detail as what I can see in front of me.

Armed with my second hand DSLR I received as a gift in December 2011, I hope to take alluring photos which will do a dish justice.  I hope you can bare with me while I am learning how to use my camera and more about photography, as there is sooo much I don’t know.

If you would like to get in touch, please do so. I’m happy to talk to anyone about practically anything.
