Smoked salmon, poppy seed macarons by Cristina Lasarte

Most of the savoury macarons I have seen always seemed a bit gimmicky to me, but Cristina Lasarte’s smoked salmon, cream cheese and poppy seed macaron is all class.
As this stylish recipe is already filled with so much flavour and colour, I wonder if anything can be added to it, or would that be going over board? Perhaps a caper? Or a little bit of dill? I’m going to have to get the baking trays out and see.
For those of you wanting to try Cristina’s recipe check out her blog post http://www.frombatoparis.com/2009/12/audrey-hepburntodays-recipe-saumon.html

Stunning color!! Would love to try…
The macaron colour comes from black food colouring, I didn’t even know there was such a thing until I read this recipe
