I am the worst when it comes to degustation meals; I never know what to wear, I can’t eat that much in one sitting, and I can’t drink the matching wines as I get drunk off one glass. But when a group of friends wanted to try Jackson’s Restaurant I was happy to accept the [...]
Getting swept up in the London 2012 Olympic spirit I decided there would be nothing more appropriate than to treat myself to high tea at Rochelle Adonis.
When I rang to book a spot at one of the communal tables a few days earlier, the person taking the booking had to double check that I [...]
My gorgeous girlfriends had just returned from their European holiday and to help them stave off PHD (Post Holiday Depression) I organised to catch up with them somewhere they hadn’t been before, Il Lido Italian Canteen.
Having had lunch there a few weeks earlier, I thought it was the perfect place to remind them that [...]
The staff at Darlington Estate Winery weren’t flustered at all when they couldn’t find our booking, they accommodated us perfectly and with aplomb. The staff really helped set the tone for what turned out to be a flawless meal.

It’s been a few months since our visit to The Imp but I do remember enjoying our dinner there. Service was more on the relaxed side of things, but that suited as fine as we were on holidays and didn’t have a care in the world. *sigh* I remember those days fondly.
This was not my first visit to Koko Black, but rather my 4th, and this time I was going to play it smart. Too many times I had given in to choc-brain, the obstinate part of my brain that screams “Gimme chocolate! Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!” every time the chocolate proximity alarm is tripped.
Since publishing this post The Woody Pear has since closed.
Reading through the dinner menu at The Woody Pear I came across a dish that made me smile. It’s not the main dish itself, but the side dish that tickles me, it reads “tzatziki, apple, celery & walnut salad”. If watching episodes of Fawlty Towers [...]
It’s Saturday night and me and my boy, Ninja, are driving around with no plans other to find some food.
“Let’s pullover when we see a place that looks interesting,” I say to him.
The glow of Amphoras Bar catches my attention, and although we’d both never been before , we quickly decide with a [...]
